Outdoor mobile stage for live music deployed in an urban environment.

Introduction

We were proud to provide our Stage 30 for Camden Rising, part of the Camden Music Festival, held at The Good Mixer on Inverness Street, Camden NW1 on 13-14 September 2025. This free, two day outdoor stage showcased Camden’s up and coming talent in a lively market square atmosphere, and we couldn’t have asked for better conditions or a better site for our compact yet powerful mobile stage.

Why Stage 30 Was the Right Choice

Tight Urban Access, Narrow Streets One of the biggest challenges in central London comes from tight street access and small gates. The Good Mixer’s location meant that only a compact, towable stage could be delivered without major disruption. Our Stage 30 easily navigated narrow streets, made tight turns, and fit through smaller access points, something larger stages would have struggled with or not been able to deliver at all.

Into a Compact Market Square Setting Inverness Street is not a wide open field: it’s part of a busy Camden neighbourhood with limited space. The intimacy of Stage 30 allowed it to be placed in just the right spot facing the street, visible to passers-by, nestled into the market square setup, and still offering good sightlines. The stage size didn’t overwhelm the setting; instead, it complemented the outdoor bars, street food stalls, and crowds.

Quick Setup, Smooth Logistics Because it was small, our team could deliver, erect, and rig up the Stage 30 swiftly, with minimal disruption to traffic and footfall. Setup was timed well, matching Camden Rising’s schedule of performances and keeping everything on track. The simplicity and efficiency meant sound checks, lighting, and performer access all ran smoothly.

Event Highlights & Local Buzz

Camden Rising featured multiple artists including The Velvet Hands, Rolla, The Dead Freights, Grungers, and A.L Strange. The stage ran from 12pm to 8pm both days, offering free access and a mix of live music, DJs, food and community activity.

What This Means for Event Organisers

If you’re planning an event in a tight urban space, market squares, pub fronts, narrow high streets, or anywhere with restricted access, here are important takeaways:

  • Measure your access points (gates, street width) before selecting a stage. Stage 30 is ideal when space is constrained.

  • Use a mobile stage that’s towable and compact for smoother delivery.

  • Prioritise quick installation: small setups reduce traffic disruption and integrate better with tight venue plans.

  • Know your audience flow: placing a stage that doesn’t clash with pedestrian routes or food stalls helps with crowd management.
